Purpose
Wingz is committed to a safe and reliable platform for members, drivers, and the general public. If an accident occurs during a Wingz trip, Wingz reviews the event to decide whether it was an at-fault accident and, if so, whether continued platform access is appropriate.
What counts as an at-fault accident
An at-fault accident occurs when a driver’s behavior or decision-making directly causes or contributes to an accident. Examples may include, but are not limited to, distracted driving, speeding, unsafe lane changes, or failure to obey traffic signals which directly causes of contributes to an accident. Wingz evaluates police reports, insurance findings, and other verifiable documentation to make this assessment.
Effect on eligibility to provide Wingz rides
At-fault accident with member(s) in the vehicle
Eligibility to provide rides on the Wingz platform will be revoked permanently when the event occurs while members are being transported and involves property damage, injury, or behavior that poses a clear safety risk.
At-fault accident without member(s) in the vehicle
Eligibility to provide rides on the Wingz platform will be paused during the review process. Eligibility may be restored once safety standards are met.
Repeated at-fault accidents
Two or more at-fault accidents with no member in the vehicle, within a 24-month look-back period, result in permanent removal of platform access.
Failure to report all accidents
If Wingz determines that a driver was involved in an accident and failed to report it as required, the driver's eligibility to provide rides on the Wingz platform will be revoked permanently.
Failure to provide documention requested
Drivers must provide requested documentation such as a police report, insurance letter, or photos within five business days. If the requested documentation cannot be submitted within that timeframe, the driver must notify Wingz and must use reasonable efforts to provide the documentation to Wingz promptly. Failure to provide requested information may result in loss of access to the Wingz platform. Access to the platform may be restored once the requested documentation is provided.
Conduct that raises safety concerns
If Wingz receives any report or complaint alleging conduct that raises safety concerns, including but not limited to reckless driving, inappropriate behavior, or deviation from the itinerary specified in the trip instructions, Wingz may immediately suspend the driver’s access to the Wingz platform while an investigation is conducted. If Wingz determines that the driver was at fault or failed to comply with platform requirements, the driver’s eligibility to provide services through the Wingz platform may be permanently revoked.
Driver responsibilities
Maintain valid registration, insurance, and any required licenses.
Follow all traffic laws.
Notify Wingz as soon as possible of any accident, whether it occurs during a Wingz trip or off-platform. Off-platform accidents may still affect eligibility to provide rides on the Wingz platform.
Provide requested documentation such as a police report, insurance letter, or photos.
Failure to report or to provide requested information may result in loss of access.
Case-by-case review
Wingz reviews each event individually. Context such as weather, road conditions, third-party actions, and insurance findings may be considered. Final decisions are made to protect the safety and trust of everyone who uses the platform.
