Beginning Fall 2026, all TNC drivers must register and join the SFO TNCvq to keep pickup privileges at San Francisco International Airport. Here's what you need to know.
What is SFO TNCvq?
SFO TNCvq is SFO's new virtual queueing system. Instead of waiting in a physical line, you request entry to SFO's staging lots remotely and get called forward when it's your turn. No new app to download — just a smartphone with a web browser and text messaging.
Do I need to register?
Yes. Every TNC driver who wants pickup privileges at SFO must register through the SFO Web Portal and accept the Terms and Conditions before using SFO TNCvq. Registration is open now — the queue itself opens for requests in Fall 2026.

How does it work?
- Register online now. Sign up at tncvq.sfo.gov to get your login credentials.
- Wait for SFO's review. You'll get an email once your request is approved or rejected.
- Request entry / join the queue. Available starting Fall 2026.
- Wait for your notification. You'll get a text when it's your turn — confirm within 10 minutes to keep your spot.
- Head to the airport. Once confirmed, you have 40 minutes to reach the staging lot.
- Arrive at the staging lot entrance. The lot monitor verifies your status in the Virtual Queue and checks your active TNC driver profile screen for ID. Once confirmed, you're in.
- Leave the staging lot. The lot monitor checks your license plate out of the system to close out your visit.
What are the key rules?
- You must register online with SFO before using the system: tncvq.sfo.gov
- Only one active reservation per license plate at a time.
- Respond to text prompts within the time limit, or you'll lose your reservation.
- The queue runs during operating hours only: 6:00 AM – 2:00 AM.
- You can't request a reservation while you're already inside the staging lot.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I don't respond to the text message in time? You'll lose your reservation and need to request entry again.
What if I don't make it to the staging lot within 40 minutes of confirming? Your reservation may be forfeited, so only confirm when you're ready to head to the airport.

Do I need a new app? No. SFO TNCvq works through a web browser and text messages — no app download required.
