To complete your vehicle inspection and remain compliant during active trips, certain safety equipment must be available in your vehicle.
All required safety items must be ready and complete within 15 days from today, and you must bring them with you during your vehicle inspection.
You can acquire the safety items from any store and brand you prefer. Commonly used options include Amazon, Walmart, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, Target, True Value, and auto parts stores.
Below are the required items:
1. Seat Belt Extenders
Not required if existing back seat belts can securely buckle into the opposite-side seat while still allowing room to stretch. |

2. 5 lb Fire Extinguisher
A fire extinguisher weighing less than 5 lbs does not meet the criteria and may result in a "FAILED" vehicle inspection. |

3. First Aid Kit
Examples include: lunchbox size, #10-size First Aid Kit, 200 / 300 piece variants. |

4. Cleanup Kit
Bloodborne pathogen or biohazard spill kit. |

5. Seat Belt Cutter
Used to quickly cut a jammed or stuck seat belt so occupants can exit a vehicle safely in an emergency. |

6. Reflective Triangles
Used to warn approaching drivers of a stopped or disabled vehicle ahead. |

7. Heavy-Duty METAL Step Stool
Plastic step stools do not meet the criteria and may result in a "FAIL" vehicle inspection. |

8. Vehicle Phone Mount
Required to support safe, hands-free operation of your phone. |

9. Temperature Gauge or Thermometer
Used to check your air conditioning. Use an analog or meat thermometer. Do not use a medical thermometer. |
